Bonsai consists of a lead guitarist, bassist, drummer, rhythm guitarist and lead singer: Gabe Keister, Emily Parks, Jonah Leatherman, and McKenna Parks respectively.
The band began with two sisters that were interested in writing and sharing experiences with a crowd through music. They were delving into the realm of alternative music and needed help to accomplish the goals that they wanted to achieve. This is when they met exactly what they needed.
In a practice room at Sweetwater, they bonded with Jonah and his friend, Gabe and it wasn’t even questioned that this was going to be the start of something long-term and truly something amazing. Not only did they begin to bond with each other musically, they all started to become family.
Their connection on stage was impeccable. The band soon became a main priority but yet one of the most effective ways of therapy for each of them. They were performing gigs at Gearfest, Rock Nights with Sweetwater, Muse on Main, the 3 Rivers Parade, and local gatherings. However, after being together for almost a year, they all made a consecutive decision to leave Sweetwater and start writing their own music.
